About The Plant

Alcoa Cleveland Works is located on 121 acres of land of which 44 acres are under roof. With 985 employees, Alcoa Cleveland Works produces auto, truck, aerospace and tank wheels. They also produce brakes, landing gears, locomotive pistons, A-Arms for military vehicles, engine tylon fittings, bulkheads, and structural parts for center wing boxes.

During 2010, they estimate to produce approximately 750,000 auto and truck wheels, gross $80M in revenue from the Small Aerospace division and $96M in revenue from the Large Aerospace division.

Cleveland Works received the Pillar Award for Community Service and 3rd Place in EPS Community Leadership Competition.

Some of Alcoa's customers are: Freightliner LLC, Bombardier, Boeing, Peterbilt, Kenworth, Bridgestone, CNC Manufacturing, Essex Industries, Porsche, Chrysler, BMW, Ferrari and Shelby.

What You Will See on the Tour

Participants will see several presses that Alcoa's products are made on. In addition, attendees may get a first-hand look at TPM and 5S events in which employees are sorting, cleaning, organizing, repairing, and painting throughout the plant. Witness employees studying a process in an effort to reduce completion time.

  • Dress Code-Cotton pants (jeans permitted) and 100% cotton long sleeve shirts
  • Cameras and all recording devices strictly prohibited
  • Plant tour dates and times are subject to change
  • PRECLUSION STATEMENT: IW may be required to preclude attendees from taking part in certain plant tours. This step will be taken solely by IW at the request of our host plant based upon the proprietary nature of information that is to be presented. The host plants' decisions are final and will be communicated to attendees in advance. Some participants on the tour may be asked to complete a Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA).
