About The Plant

The Timken Faircrest Steel plant focuses production on specialty alloy, higher-volume products than can be melted, rolled, and finished in a continuous process, taking advantage of the facility's integrated structure. The Faircrest Steel Plant began operations in 1985, following an extensive study of our Steel Business and steelmaking technologies. With an ultra-high-powered 170-ton electric arc furnace at its heart, the facility uses state-of-the-art manufacturing processes, under the control of a hierarchical computer system, to produce the highest quality steel possible. Faircrest production is focused on specialty alloy, higher-volume products that can be melted, rolled and finished in a continuous process, taking advantage of the facility's integrated structure. FSP was one of seventeen Timken locations that received the company's highest award for attention to quality (Foundation of Quality Excellence Award). This award was in recognition of implementing TQMS & for achieving targeted quality performance levels.
